Must I ignore this world full of sorrow
underlying phantoms and empty ghosts
surface to air missiles, cities burn
trouble with suffering, if I borrow

I must repay the debt, suffering stinks

it stinks of dirty clothes and selfish hosts
given the political climate, turn
nothing but leaves over, just read a book
or protest against protesters, the finks
rely on social events to make friends
events for another purpose, to walk

the tightrope across buildings, all depends
honestly on how dishonest this talk
if speech acts have consequences, I cook
solo in the kitchen, play solitaire

work for the good of the social contract
or contract a venereal disease
really, syphilis may appear fair fair
literally, that tracks heroin veins
diminished capacity to react

forget to respond, emotional tease
underlying phantoms and empty ghosts
leave the phenomenal world, static gains
leave the phenomenal world far behind

object to objectives correlative
for attorneys general are hard to find

suffer the sorrow, let go while I live
or see the stick in the water, bent hosts
realize they appear bent to others
realize nothing matters, bent or straight
or the stick is broken, helpless brothers
