While erasing pencil marks in a book
how the other appears in my own thoughts
in this erasure of effects, the trace
left behind by someone else, just one look
entertains me as mind encounters mind

elegant, neat, clean lines, not this ersatz
reality, page after page, typeface
absorbed by graphite, honeycomb graphene
structured into layers, no try hard grind
insolent, arrogant, moronic brat
notes with no forethought or hindsight, lead lines
graced with a total lack of grace, a gnat

playing at self-importance without fines
elegant, neat, clean lines, not from this spleen
notably self-absorbed, no self-concept
clean the book as a librarian clears
ignorance from the ordered stacks, reverse
little by little, step by step, inept

minions with no sense of alterity
articulate yet bored, observe their fears
remember their traumas trigger a curse
kindred spirits nowhere near, keep calm, stay
safe, efface disorder, disparity

iniquity, barbarity, chaos
necessary dualities embrace

articulate yet bored sheep, at a loss

brilliantly facile, no claims to displace
orbit elliptical motion, display
obvious emotions publicly staged
keep calm, stay safe, while balance is engaged
