This book, I broke the spine, what do I owe

Theater is mimetic, no talent
hateful pretty boys in make-up act out
issue a warrant for arrest, busted
shit going down, do not act so gallant

book them on charges of grand larceny
out of the way, get out, you drunken lout
ousted from Congress, servants once trusted
kindness in cruelty, loving-kindness

I twist my tongue in knots, copper penny

broke the law, the spine on a book I read
ripped it to shreds, rip her to shreds, so dull
okra on a bone china plate, I dread
kindness as cruelty, memories null
every happy moment lost to blindness

theater is a lie, yes, nothing more
hateful little girls with tantrums to throw
everyone loves to watch, voyeurs, on stage

spit on the floor, vagrant, what is the score
pity for you no one speaks up, bespoke
intellect lost in the city, black crow
no one bats an eyelash, you rant with rage
empty your past bottled up with a cork

what do I do with all this pain, I broke
hate crimes to get to this point, here and now
ask me if I feel remorse, if I care
talent comes from acting, a mermaid prow

designed to make a jury weep, I share
only the best tricks up my sleeves, I fork

I flick my tongue to smell stranger danger

owing to my synasthesia, I snake
well-wishers with contempt, their spines I break
each face lies, beware, a money changer
