Our recidivist reincarceration

Only, yes, we were innocent both times
under racial profiling policies
recidivism is the goal, for sure

reincarnation, confined for our crimes
each time, we get out for the worst, reborn
causes and conditions, in colonies
in groups, as animals, without a cure
decisions shape actions through intentions
intentions and volition shape our scorn
visions of how life could be otherwise
imagination in prison, this earth
still, the alternative is fiction, lies
tear a page from...the book, before our birth

really, before we were conceived, mentions
exactly, the networks set up to see
imagine thoughts arise, change and cease, stream
normalcy on the TV screen, to watch
causality, gratis, without a fee
as reincarnation as in rebirth
reborn not as ourselves but as a dream
cancel culture destroyed our chance to hatch
enigmatic plots, to plant seeds, to grow
rational minds, not as heaven on earth
as if one fiction was never enough
time outside and time inside are the same
if we could never land within the rough
only to golf in luxury, no shame
no sense of difference, to put on a show
