"C.R.E.A.M."
A: I think I was supposed to do something.
B: What did you forget to do, Professor?
A: You know, something meaningful with my life.
B: But you taught at the university.
A: I attended the same time that you did.
B: But you were just sitting in on classes.
A: I was there for my Bachelor's degree.
B: You were just older than the rest of us.
A: Yes, studying Philosophy and French.
B: Wait?! Nothing practical like accounting?
A: Not even Business or Economics.
B: No one taught you how to be an adult?
A: I was headstrong, rebellious as a child.
B: That is so sad. Sounds like you were abused.
A: Yes, my father was an alcoholic.
B: Everything was hush-hush, behind closed doors.
A: The nature of dysfunctional families.
B: What a tragedy. But you were so smart.
A: You know, compliments will get you nowhere.
B: Sorry, I am so sorry. You are right.
A: I think I was supposed to do something.
B: Yes, something worthwhile, leave a legacy.
A: I thought so much. Time is not on my side.
B: Everyone is in the same boat, but not.
A: But not the same circumstances. Karma.
B: You appear so young, like the rest of us.
A: Responsibility ages people.
B: With responsibility comes power.
A: Power is the decisiveness to act.
B: No wife or children, only cats and dogs.
A: The old man is snoring. I had a wife.
B: And was that when things started to go south?
A: It all began long before I was born.
B: But we graduated together, no?
A: You graduated in four years, me, eight.
B: Your wife left you and you got a divorce.
A: I made many mistakes. Bad decisions.
B: Accountability grants no release.
A: For my own conception, I am at fault.
B: To confess like this, there is no money.
A: My legacy is the breath of the wind.
B: Spoken like a true mystic. Malarkey!
A: I think I was supposed to do something.
B: Something with your life, like the rest of us.
A: Hominids mimic without perspective.
B: People are bloody ignorant apes. Right?!
A: Context derived from past consequences.
B: But how to move forward as a species?
A: The breath of the wind is holy, indeed.
B: Cash rules everything around me. Money!
A: Plato points up, Aristotle points down.
B: Historical materialism.
A: Then, you understand the dialectic.
B: Saṃsāra, duḥkha, mokṣa, nirvāṇa.
A: I think I was supposed to do something.
B: Raining, pouring, the old man is snoring.
A: How do I retire in my old age?
B: Work until you are eighty-one years old.
A: Perhaps I will die lucky, an arhat.
B: Never the Buddha, just a disciple.
A: With great discipline comes discovery.
B: I think I found what you are looking for.
